A new chandelier

Things are moving along at the coffee shop.  The sheetrock is done and most of the taping is finished.  It is drying very slowly which is frustrating for Chuck.  But he's still making progress.  Today he measured out the walls for the serving area.  We are hoping to be ready to paint on Saturday or Monday.  That will really change the look of everything!  I'm a little bit concerned about getting all the dust and dirt cleaned out of the shop.  With the cement walls being demolished, and the sheetrock tape being sanded, there is dust EVERY WHERE!  The windows are in place with chrome bands and bars.  It seems like an insurmountable task to get all of that clean.  I hope it goes better than I'm imagining!

The cabinet maker measured the space for the cupboards yesterday.  We're waiting for his price quote, but we're pretty sure he will be making the cabinets.  So that's another step forward!

A couple of weeks ago we bought a chandelier.  I'm attaching a picture of it, while it was hanging in the store.  There are a couple of other lights in the picture but I think you can get the idea anyway.  Right now, for lack of any other space, its sitting in our living room floor!  I'll be happy to have it hung in its proper place very soon!

Thank you again for checking in to see how things are going.  We're very thankful for each one of you!

More progress!

Things are moving along at the shop. I don't know if you remember about the need to change one of the bathrooms to make it handicapped accessible. This week the wall between the bathrooms was demolished.  It was a huge mess.  Until then, things in the shop were looking pretty organized and clean.  But with all the cement, dirt, water, and dust, things got very dirty.  But the wall is down!  Last night a truck came and took all the cement and rebar away.  So except for the dust, things are looking better again!  Chuck put up the new wall between the bathrooms, making one larger.

Tomorrow the electrician will put in the wiring for the bathroom ceilings.  After that, the sheet rock will be finished up and ready for taping. The main, upper ceiling is all finished and looks great!

I’ll try to add some pictures in the next few days.  Maybe someone would have been interested in the piles of cement and rebar, but it didn’t make for a very nice picture! J

Thanks for following our progress.  We appreciate each one of you!
